Fabrication of Vertically Aligned ZnO Nanorods Modified with Dense Silver Nanoparticles as Effective SERS Substrates

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy has attracted increasing attention due to its high spectral reproducibility and unique selectivity target molecules. Here, a facile approach is proposed prepare Ag nanoparticles modified ZnO nanorod arrays (Ag/ZnO NR arrays). were densely decorated on the surface of nanorods through silver mirror reaction subsequent seed-assisted electrodeposition. The prepared Ag/ZnO can be used as sensitive, uniform, repeatable SERS substrate for rapid detection organic dye molecules biomolecules with concentrations higher than corresponding limits (LODs). LODs rhodamine 6G (R6G), 4-aminothiophenol (PATP) adenine are calculated 1.0 × 10−13 M, 1.6 10−12 M 3 10−11 respectively. enhancement factor (EF) estimated ~2.7 108 when detecting 10−10 R6G. Particularly, as-synthesized exhibits multiple components. In addition, fabricated recycled their superior self-cleaning ability realize photocatalytic degradation R6G in water within 1 h driven by UV light, showing that three-dimensional recyclable substrates have wide applications environmental pollution monitoring biomedical analysis.
